Even though Hyper Scape hasnt quite broken into the mainstream just yet, Ubisoft Montreal is trying to give the battle royale shooter a new lease of life by finally introducing cross-play to consoles. Hyper Scape's battle pass will likely offer both free and premium rewards spread across 100 tiers for Season 4.Įxpect it to follow the same template as Season 3. We'd also put money on a new weapon and/or hack - the game's limited-use powerups that can be found throughout a match. Any resemblance to actual persons (living or dead), events, institutions. While we don't know for sure, expect the game's map to get some new areas or some overhauls for the new season, as well as the potential for new modes. Many HYPER SCAPE users were hurt, or ended up in comas, including Simon. Seasons traditionally last three months, meaning we're likely to see Season 4 around E3 2021 in mid-June, if not slightly before. Pick up my sci-fi novels Herokiller and Herokiller 2, and read my first series, The Earthborn Trilogy, which is also on audiobook. It does not play well to be a late entrant in this genre unless you are arriving with some blockbuster evolutions to the genre, and I’m just not sure Hyper Scape has that, from this initial look.įollow me on Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. We have a lot of well-established, fun, great-looking games in this genre that aren’t going anywhere. ![]() This seems very much designed for Quake-like arena play, and yet that’s kind of a style of gameplay that isn’t in vogue these days, so I’m not sure what the audience for that will be here. And yet I do have to wonder if there’s enough to get people to switch to it from their current BR of choice, whether that’s Fortnite, Apex, Warzone or what have you. This is not the Lawbreakers or Battleborn of the BR realm, certainly. There’s nothing like, terrible about Hyper Scape. I also feel like this game lacks much of a personality. Granted, I prefer this to Valorant, but that’s really a matter of not liking the CS:GO genre all that much. If you thought Apex Legends was a “movement focused” BR compared to Warzone or PUBG, Hyper Scape is like 20x that, and for me, it’s just a bit too much. Is Hyper Scape DEAD in 2021 Mirko 23. Despite rocketing to the top of Twitch charts with a coordinated marketing scheme involving Twitch streamers and YouTube. The only relatively recent BR newcomer, Fall Guys, has done well. Hyper Scape launched on August 11th, 2020 and quickly fell off. It’s too arena-ish for me, with blindingly fast-paced battles with people hopping around rooftops and teleporting 50 feet in the air. Your game has to be a hit right away or it will be completely dead on arrival. I will admit that I am not terribly good at the game in my initial PC playtime here, and yet I am frankly just not enjoying the high-flying combat all that much. This is where my praise of Hyper Scape sort of ends, however.
